LDS Hospital-Archer Mechanical

Archer had previously ordered a scan from Noorda Tech before we started modeling, which they ended up not using. But, they believed in the technology and wanted to try it again. As a result, they requested a proposal for a scan and model of LDS Hospital, where they were making some mechanical improvements and additions to tie into the existing piping. They were hoping for a quick turnaround of the final model.

We were able to be onsite scanning and deliver the model within a week. We took 55 scans in the hallway and room that they wanted captured and registered all of them to an accuracy of 0.9 mm. The model was then created from this point cloud with the correct location and size of everything in the room.

The cool part was when we followed up with Jason Eckensten, BIM Manager at Archer, who had been using the model to draw in the new pieces in Navisworks. “The scan and model were so helpful and accurate that I have done my job without visiting the job site, which I would normally do multiple times! That savings alone makes the Noorda Tech model worth the cost,” he said.
